Their decision...

I'm so sorry I didn't post earlier. I've been so sick that I really haven't left the bed today, except to go to a closing this morning (yes, in the midst of all this we decided to refinance our mortgage).

Dr. Romp called today to tell us that the meeting went well and all of the Dr.'s were in agreement that they should proceed with the VSD closure on Wednesday. This is great news really, and an answer to prayer that all of the Dr.'s agreed on this decision.

We will be checking in to the University Hospital between 10:00 and 12:00 on Tuesday morning and the surgery will take place on Wednesday. I'm thinking we will be in the hospital for 4-5 days probably? But I'm not exactly sure.

Thank you all for your prayers and for your offers to help. We will probably take you up on your offers :) The plan as of now is for Aaron and I to be at the hospital together Tuesday night and Wednesday...he'll definitely stay until we know that YouYou is stable. Then I will probably stay at the hospital the rest of the time while Aaron spends the evenings here with the boys. We are really glad that the surgery will be at the same hospital where the cath took place because YouYou was very comfortable there, they had a nice playroom, wireless internet in the rooms, a laundry facility, kitchen, the nurses were great, etc.

I'll post again soon...

Thank you so much for posting. I have wanted to call, but I knew that you would be resting. Praise God for these wonderful doctors.
Lia's surgery is April 2nd, but how I do wish it was next week and you and I could be together with our babies. Lia's surgery will also at Childrens Hospital. Is this the same one?
Please let me know if you need me to do anything. I hope you are feeling better soon. Its so hard taking care of our babies when we are sick too.

    Love

P.S. We closed on refinancing on Tuesday (haha)

  5. Erica and Aaron,

Your little girl is absolutely precious! I admire both of you so much for bringing her into your lives where she will learn about the Lord and have a true family. Not everyone is equipped to do what you have done so I especially appreciate you opening your hearts. I know it's been a long and emotional ride and I'm very proud of you and the boys! I so look forward to meeting YouYou when you think the time is right. Love you. Janet Adams

Also, have Aaron send me your mailing address.

I really want to come and see you, so you just tell me when..OK? And if not, its OK. No worries.

    Love you,

  7. Oh Erica I'm sorry you haven't been well! Believe me, I know what it's like to not feel up to par yet still have a lot going on...so I am praying special prayers for you, too!
Okay, I will be coming to see you at the hospital Wed. or Thurs. Is it UAB? Which part? Or is it Children's?
I am thankful the doctors all agree on what's best for Clara and rest assured we will all be praying! I am putting Clara on my church prayer list as well.
Please let me know what else I can do...
    Love,
    Laine

  9. Oh,Erica- I am just in tears right now over all that you are going through! I am praying for you and your family and sweet Clara- God is good! I know you could have never known that she had these heart conditions, but God knew, and he knew you would be able to handle it and that you would be able to provide treatment for her! I hope that you are feeling much better- We all had passed around a stomach bug for TWO weeks, so I know you are sick of being sick~ Keep us updated when you can! God Bless!
